Familienfest

Every summer, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin opens its doors, gates and garden areas to the children of students, staff and alumni, and to parents, grandparents, passers-by and all other interested parties.

Numerous university departments and facilities, as well as external partners, are involved in creating the multi-faceted summer party organised by the Family Support Centre. The party-goers get involved in research, crafts, playing and learning. Held in the courtyard of the Unter den Linden 6 main building, it offers a wide range of hands-on activities plus a colourful stage show, workshops, talks and tours. The fun and games are supplemented by a Family Support Centre information stand providing visitors with information on all aspects of maintaining a studies-life balance.

The children’s party also includes a prize awarded to the winner of the ‘Family-friendly project’ competition.
