Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin - Family Support Centre

HU Childcare Centre: Die Lupe

In July 2015, Humboldt-Universität established its own childcare centre (Kita). Operated by studierendenWERK Berlin, the centre is located in the Hedwig-Dohm-Haus, Ziegelstraße 5-9, which also houses the student self-government as well as Die Humbolde childcare centre.

Fifteen early childhood educators care for roughly 90 children ranging in age from eight weeks to six years. Thirty-nine of the spots are reserved for children under three years of age. The 664-square-metre facility is primarily for the children of Humboldt-Universität students and staff.

The services and opening hours of the centre are based on the needs of the students and employees, and thus significantly help achieve the goal of reconciling academic and professional obligations with family life.

The centre management at Die Lupe is in charge of allocating its available childcare spots. Go to the studierendenWERK website for more information and to put down your child’s name on a list for a spot using the online form.
